On September 30, with the support of Biokhimik JSC of Promomed Group, the scientific and educational laboratory for the synthesis of active pharmaceutical substances was opened on the basis of the Institute of Physics and Chemistry of the Ogarev Mordovia State University.
The laboratory for the synthesis of active pharmaceutical substances is the second joint project of Promomed Group and the Mordovia State University within the «Science» national project in the Republic of Mordovia, which was approved by the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin «On national goals and strategic objectives of the development of the Russian Federation for the period up to 2024».
Dmitry Zemskov, Executive Director of Biokhimik, said:
The new laboratory has become a logical continuation of the Promomed’s program for the development of scientific and technical cooperation with Mordovia State University, we invested 3.5 times more in it than in the first laboratory and equipped it with a full set of equipment for chemical synthesis and chemistry of fine substances.
Modern equipment in the laboratory will allow students to conduct research in the development of synthesis methods and small-scale production of compounds for pharmaceutical substances. Thus, future pharmacists will have the opportunity to master all stages of drug production in practice, from the synthesis of the active substance to the production of the finished product; graduate students will have the opportunity to participate in solving real production tasks already during their diploma projects.
For many years, Promomed Group has been a strategic partner of the National Research Mordovia State University in training professional personnel for the pharmaceutical industry, investing in the development and training of students who in the future may become employees of the Biokhimik plant (member of Promomed Group).
This fruitful joint work has already materialized in the Department of Chemistry and Technology of Physiologically active Substances at the University, founded in 2018, and the first educational and production laboratory, where students for already two years are mastering in practice modern methods of manufacturing and analyzing finished dosage forms.
